Formula Ribbon

The ribbons in the Formula Designer change based on which Mode is currently in focus; that is, whether you are currently editing the Formula in the Designer or in the Script Mode (IDE).

Formula Designer

  • Run Button: Click the large Pyramid button to execute and test your KPI.
  • Clipboard tools: Use the clipboard tools to cut, copy, paste, and delete. You can also use keyboard shortcuts for these functions.
  • Clear All: Clear everything from the canvas.
  • Script Mode: Switch to script mode and build you formula or list using PQL in the Custom Member IDE or the Custom List IDE.
  • Reset zoom to default: Reset to the default zoom level.
  • Blocks Size: Set the formula blocks size to small, medium, or large.
  • Marketplace: Select a formula from the Marketplace drop-down.
  • Choose Language: Change the language for metadata and queries.
  • Translate Source: Translate the formula name to be used for metadata and queries.
  • Refresh Metadata: Refresh the data model metadata, including dimensions, elements, and business logic.
  • Quick Discovery: Open the formula in Discover. Click here for more information.
  • Quick Logic: Create a new List, Formula, KPI, Parameter, or Column using the current data model. A new Formulate tab opens. Click here for more information.

Script Mode (IDE)

When you open the Formula in Script Mode, you see different ribbon options. The Script Mode ribbon offers quick access to a range of commonly used tools, and some controls for the script editor itself (style options).
